Programme Overview

The Diploma in Exercise Science is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in how the human body moves and responds to physical activity, preparing them for careers in the fitness, health, and sports industries. The program typically covers key areas such as anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, functional movement, nutrition, and the principles of strength and conditioning. Students learn how to assess fitness and health status, design safe and effective exercise programs for diverse populations, and apply evidence-based practices to improve performance and wellbeing.

Learning is often supported through practical laboratory work, use of fitness testing equipment, and industry-based placements or projects, helping students develop real-world skills and professional confidence. Graduates are prepared for roles such as fitness instructor, personal trainer, exercise technician, or sports performance assistant, and may also use the diploma as a pathway into related bachelor’s degrees in sports science, physiotherapy, or health promotion.
