Does a Degree Still Matter Today? ICMS Shares a Realistic View of the Next 10 Years
December 16, 2025On 28 November 2025, the Faculty of Sports Studies conducted the Sports Massage Level 1 Workshop at Hall 13B, offering ICMS students a valuable opportunity to strengthen their foundational skills in sports performance and athlete care. Led by a certified lead trainer, the workshop combined theoretical learning with hands-on practical application, allowing students to experience real techniques used within the sports and fitness industry.
Students were introduced to essential topics such as muscle and skeletal anatomy, basic massage techniques and practical lab activities using proper equipment and industry aligned protocols. This direct exposure helped them connect classroom learning with real world practice and gain confidence in delivering safe, ethical and professional sports massage services.
A key focus of the workshop was inclusivity. Students from various programmes and skill levels participated equally and received guidance and assessments tailored to their learning needs. This ensured that every participant had the opportunity to learn, practise and progress without barriers.
The workshop also encouraged students to develop agile and adaptive thinking. With the sports industry evolving rapidly through technology, performance analytics and new recovery methods, students were trained to adjust their techniques, respond to different athlete conditions and apply critical judgement in dynamic environments. Through structured assessments and reflective feedback, the workshop strengthened students’ readiness for future internships, practical placements and industry engagement.
The Sports Massage Level 1 Workshop successfully demonstrated ICMS’s commitment to nurturing well rounded, industry responsive and future ready graduates.
