February 16, 2026ICMS University College successfully organised the OSH Career Forum: OSH Career Pathway on 5 February 2026 at ICMS Hall as part of its continuous commitment to strengthening industry aligned education and graduate employability. The forum was specifically designed for students of the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) programme, with a total participation of 50 students and 8 academic staff, comprising 1 Head of Academic, 4 Program Leaders and 3 academic coaches. The strong internal presence reflected institutional support towards enhancing professional exposure and structured career development initiatives.
The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Shamsul Bahri Md Tamrin, Director of the Centre for Industrial Relation and Network (CiRNeT), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a respected authority in occupational safety and health. The distinguished panel comprised Puan Nor Ain Zulkifli, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager at PETRONAS; Mr. Irsyad Danish Khor, Director of HFEM Academy Sdn. Bhd.; and Major (R) Leong Yee Keong, Principal Consultant of Master Shield Sdn. Bhd. Collectively, the panel represented expertise across corporate, training and consultancy sectors within the OSH ecosystem, providing a comprehensive industry perspective.
The forum focused on clarifying OSH career pathways, competency expectations and progression routes across sectors such as manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, consultancy and services. Panel discussions addressed key employability factors including regulatory compliance knowledge, reporting standards, safety culture implementation, professional ethics and continuous professional development. The interactive question and answer segment further enabled students to engage directly with industry practitioners, enhancing clarity on internship preparation, entry level positioning and long term career planning.
As an institutional outcome, the forum significantly strengthened students’ awareness of structured career progression within the OSH field and reinforced the importance of competency driven development. The initiative bridged academic learning with workplace realities, enabling students to formulate clearer action plans for internship placement and early career entry. This programme aligns with ICMS University College’s strategic objective to embed industry relevance within academic delivery, ensuring that graduates are professionally prepared, industry informed and equipped to contribute effectively within regulated and high responsibility sectors such as Occupational Safety and Health.
